Dr. Samantha J. Reznik (she/her) is a researcher and licensed clinical psychologist serving as a research associate at TIEMH. She completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Arizona with a focus on psychophysiology and intervention science. Driven by her passion for improving mental health services, she focuses on dissemination and implementation research to increase access to and quality of care for individuals with serious mental illness (SMI) and other underserved populations, including early intervention for psychosis. Additionally, she is interested in research on and development of SMI and health service psychology training. She seeks to use participatory action research methods and center lived experience in research and training. She currently works on the Advancing Early Psychosis Intervention Network in Texas (EPINET-TX) project and collaborates with the South Southwest Mental Health Technology Transfer Center to increase access to evidence-based services and training for coordinated specialty care for early psychosis in Texas. She also actively contributes to multiple national professional service initiatives in SMI, including serving as membership chair of the American Psychological Association SMI/SED Subsection and supporting Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp) training implementation at the VA.

With a clinical background focused on recovery-oriented mental health services, Dr. Reznik has specialized in working with individuals with SMI and other underserved populations. Her clinical training included a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)-funded clinical internship at University of Kansas Medical Center as well as an advanced clinical fellowship in rehabilitation and recovery for SMI at VA San Diego Healthcare System/University of California San Diego. She also worked at the Early Psychosis Intervention Center in Tucson, AZ for two years. She is enthusiastic about CBTp and other collaborative approaches aimed at reducing suffering, facilitating meaning-making, and partnering with individuals to build the lives they desire. With a commitment to research, training, and clinical expertise in SMI, she strives to create meaningful change in mental health services, ensuring individuals receive the recovery-oriented care they need and deserve.
