Sarah McCafferty, LCSW-S has been a lecturer for The University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work since 2009. Sarah has over ten years experience in social science research and program evaluation through her work at the Oregon Social Learning Center, Theatre Action Project, the Center for Women in Society, and UT’s Center for Social Work Research. The majority of her work however has been a blend of the micro, mezzo, and macro areas of practice with a focus on issues pertaining to disadvantaged youth, domestic and sexual violence, coalition building, community organizing, and family functioning/parental interventions. Sarah has worked in many area schools as a school-based social worker through Austin Independent School District and Communities in Schools of Central Texas, as a medical social worker and providing individual and family psychotherapy in private practice and community settings.
