Assistant professor Yessenia Castro‘s research on disparities-related research among minority and underserved populations has earned her national recognition.
The National Hispanic Science Network on Drug Abuse has awarded Castro the National Award of Excellence in Research by a New Investigator. This national honor, presented for outstanding research and/or publication in the field of Hispanic drug abuse, was announced at the network’s 14th Annual International Conference in El Paso, September 3-6, 2014.
