Professor Tammy Linseisen was honored with the 2025 Outstanding Service Learning Instructor Award as part of the University’s Tower Awards ceremony on April 22, 2025.
This award recognizes faculty members who have made significant contributions to student learning as a result of their community-based pedagogy and research. Winners in this category demonstrate their influence in facilitating reciprocal relationships between the students they teach and the community organizations with which they work, as well as a continued commitment to community engagement in general.
The nomination was made by students in Professor Linseisen’s class. Their nomination included the following words: “Professor Linseisen teaches Social Work Practice II , preparing students to engage with communities thoughtfully and purposefully, modeling a teaching style rooted in collaboration and practical skills. Through her leadership and mentorship, she strengthens both student learning and community outcomes. Her work builds bridges between theory and practice in a way that inspires all who learn from her. “
