The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended calls for periodic comprehensive statewide needs assessments that will result in recommendations to the goals, priorities, and strategies of the state plan. The Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (TX DARS) has contracted with the research team at the Steve Hicks School of Social Work to conduct research for and to produce a comprehensive state needs assessment to understand the rehabilitation needs of individuals with disabilities.
Monica Faulkner is responsible for operational and management tasks and will supervise the quantitative data analysis and reporting. Beth Gerlach will be responsible for integrating findings from the consumer satisfaction survey into the needs assessment and supervising the analysis of town hall meetings.
