The Girasol program is housed within the Texas Institute for Child and Family Wellbeing (TXICFW) at the Steve Hicks School of Social Work. Girasol strives to help immigrant communities in Texas through education, support, and connection. As part of this project, Girasol Texas will provide support groups and trainings for legal professionals working with immigrant populations to lessen the impact of vicarious trauma and promote positive mental health. The goal of our Training and Consultation program is to provide high-quality trainings, workshops, processing groups, and consultation services for professionals who engage in trauma-informed work with immigrants, asylum seekers, and refugees.
