The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services has partnered with the Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing (TXICFW) at UT Austin to develop, implement, and support a Continuous Quality Assurance and Improvement (CQAI) program for the Texas Child Centered Care (T3C) System. The objective is to develop, implement, and sustain a systematic approach to enhancing T3C’s effectiveness, particularly in capacity needs, service assessment, and specialized training. By instituting a research-based, data-driven CQAI structure with robust stakeholder engagement, the project aims to proactively identify and address operational challenges, evolve service packages, streamline the assessment process, and improve provider credentialing. This multi-year initiative will not only focus on the current system’s optimization but also on the dynamic response to evolving requirements, thereby ensuring the best possible outcomes for children, youth, and young adults within the foster care continuum.
