The Office of Professional Development (OPD) works with numerous organizations and state agencies to ensure that the expertise of social workers is incorporated into trainings or conferences. A key component of OPD’s mission is to provide robust opportunities for our members to grow professionally – whether it be from participation in a training as an attendee or an instructor.

Below are affiliated programs currently looking for keynote or workshop presentation submissions. Look and see if there are any programs that align with your skills and values that would benefit from your expertise.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Some presentation opportunities offer stipends/honoraria while other offer experience and professional exposure.

February 19-21, 2024

Austin, TX

This in-person conference attracts over 650 school social workers from around Texas every February. The organizers welcome innovative, engaging, and educational presentations that will inspire social workers to make a profound impact in their schools and communities.

This year’s conference theme is “Let’s Get Rowdy”. Bring your spirit, voice, and ideas to get “rowdy” for school social work! Collective passion and energy make us unstoppable, and we are excited to channel this dynamic force into our workshops and sessions. Selected presenters receive a discount on their registration fee.

Due Date for Proposals: August 31, 2024

The Office of Professional Development is always looking for new ideas, compelling best practices, and energizing presenters for practical, engaging trainings developed specifically for social workers.
