Dr. Jane Maxwell has been invited to give testimony before the Committee on Science, Space and Technology Subcommittee on Research and Technology of the U.S. House of Representatives, at the hearing entitled “Meth Addiction: Using Science to Explore Solutions” on September 18th, 2013.
Dr. Maxwell specializes in trends and patterns of substance abuse in Texas, nationally, and internationally, with special interest in patterns of use and abuse of methamphetamine, party drugs, methadone, and other opiate drugs.
In addition to giving key highlights of her research program, Dr. Maxwell will address issues such as the application of sound social science research to understand the spread of meth, and the use of her research to inform public policy both in terms of treatment and the spread of this drug.
