The Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing is pleased to announce the launching of Clinician’s Corner, a learning space where social work researchers and practitioners can exchange resources and knowledge to increase the usability of research findings in the field of social work practice.
Welcome to Clinician's Corner!
Clinician’s Corner will offer short-form articles on topics relevant to social work practice, and opportunities for researchers and practitioners to come together through Facebook Live sessions to discuss the articles, share resources, and learn from one another. These sessions will also serve as a professional development opportunity with Continuing Education Credits for social workers. The final product will be two annual Clinician’s Corner digests, curated by the institute’s researchers and published on the institute’s website.
The first edition of Clinician’s Corner is focusing on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Short-format articles already available provide an overview of ACEs, explore how social workers can collaborate with physicians to promote the use of a universal ACEs screening in doctor’s offices, discuss how to implement an ACEs screening in practice, explore how organizations can become more ACEs and trauma-informed, and discuss how to consider ACEs when working with special populations such as youth in foster care.
See the articles here and rate your favorites. The institute will schedule three Facebook Live Sessions with the authors of the three highest rated articles. Participants will get a chance to collaborate with the authors by discussing the article and exchanging ideas and resources on the topic.
