To acknowledge her decade-long academic and mentoring support to Tallinn social work doctoral candidates, Dr. Diana DiNitto is being awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Tallinn University in Estonia. Dr. DiNitto will be accepting her doctorate virtually on November 24, 2023.
Dr. DiNitto has served as a visiting professor and advisor of doctoral students at Tallinn University for several years, preparing them for doctoral defenses, and ultimately attending many of their defenses.
In addition to her work in Estonia, Dr. DiNitto has been a visiting professor at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and University of Sydney (Australia).
At UT-Austin, Dr. DiNitto is a Distinguished Teaching Professor and the Cullen Trust Centennial Professor in Alcohol Studies and Education in the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin. She is also an affiliate faculty member in Women’s and Gender Studies and the American Studies Department.
