Stephanie Gonzales is a licensed clinical social worker in Austin, Texas with 20 years of experience in trauma-informed care, organizational and leadership development, and community-oriented practices within public safety and social service systems. She currently serves as a Quality Consultant Senior for the Austin Police Department, where she provides consultation and coaching on equitable and trauma-informed leadership practices and supports cross-systems collaboration and community trust-building efforts.
Prior to her current role, Stephanie served as the Victim Services Supervisor for the Austin Police Department, overseeing crisis counselors who provide 24/7 response to individuals impacted by trauma. Earlier in her career with APD, she worked as a Victim Services Counselor, providing crisis counseling, case management, and trauma-informed training for police officers, cadets, and community members. Stephanie’s professional background also includes roles with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Council on Family Violence, The National Domestic Violence Hotline, and The Settlement Home for Children.
