Stacey Jordan has over 20 years of experience in public education and policy leadership positions. In the Office of the Dean, Jordan oversees the school’s strategy, policy, and daily operations. She teaches graduate courses in Strategic Partnerships and Social Welfare Policy and serves as a practicum faculty liaison for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva, Switzerland, and as a faculty affiliate with the Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Justice.

Before joining SHS, Jordan served as a senior leader within educational research organizations and think tanks, where she focused on clarifying connections between research and practice for stakeholders and educators. Her experience in policy leadership positions includes serving as deputy assistant secretary for intergovernmental affairs for the U.S. Department of Education, where she oversaw policy implementation at local, county, tribal, and state levels; director for the New York City Fund for Public Schools; and special assistant and education liaison for the City of Providence, Rhode Island.

She serves on the Advisory Board of Helping Hand Home, a residential childcare agency in Travis County, and Headwaters School, an independent early childhood through 12th-grade school with a Montessori Foundation.
