Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinical Lead for the Integrated Behavioral Health Scholars Program
Robin McCullough Smith is from Houston, Texas and earned her master of science in social work at The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining the clinical faculty at the Steve Hicks School of Social Work in 2010, Professor Smith was manager of admissions for St. David’s Pavilion psychiatric hospital for eight years, did PRN social work at North Austin Medical Center for three years, and taught undergraduate social work as a lecturer for nine years.
Professor Smith has a special interest in training master’s level students to work with underserved populations in integrated healthcare settings. Currently, she is a clinical lead and a collaborative training lead with the Integrated Behavioral Health Scholars Program, administered through the Dell Medical School Department of Psychiatry. In addition to being a licensed clinical social worker, professor Smith is a board certified clinical supervisor and a member of NASW. Professor Smith enjoys cooking, reading, and hiking and biking the Sangre de Cristo mountains of New Mexico every summer with her family.
