Nivedhitha (Nivi) holds a Ph.D. in Behavioral Epidemiology from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Public Health. Her research interests include exploring and addressing non-medical drivers of health among underserved families and advancing health equity. She currently works as a research associate at the Texas Institute for Excellence in Mental Health in the Steve Hicks School of Social Work. Nivi has contributed to various projects in mental health, cancer prevention and survivorship, food insecurity, and disaster response. She is motivated to implement and evaluate multi-stakeholder community-based health interventions that address health disparities and promote healthier lifestyles. In her free time, Nivi enjoys listening to podcasts, traveling, staying physically active, and spending time with her husband and their toy Maltese.
