Nicollette Violante is a bilingual licensed clinical social worker and a certified lactation counselor. Currently, she is a mental health therapist at Deep Eddy Psychotherapy, PLLC. Additionally, she is a health professional specialist at Dell Medical School’s Department of Health Social Work and a field instructor and adjunct professor at Steve Hicks School of Social Work.
Violante has a wide range of professional experiences in both direct practice and administrative social work. Clinically, she has provided services to children and adolescents in a variety of settings, such as in community mental health organizations, schools, and integrated, federally qualified health centers. She was previously a HealthySteps Specialist, where she facilitated team-based well child checks in pediatric primary care to promote nurturing parenting, and provided behavior consults and case management to pediatric patients. Her research experience focused on survivors of human trafficking, refugee and asylum seekers’ mental health, and implementation evaluations that examined the efficacy of community programs focused on adolescents in the juvenile justice system.
Her psychotherapy approaches include EMDR, parent child interaction therapy, solution focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing, trust based relational intervention, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
Violante is passionate about relational health, strengthening the parent-child relationship, reducing toxic stress, early childhood mental health, perinatal mental health interprofessional education in healthcare, social work interventions in pediatric primary care, trauma-informed care, health equity, and integrated behavioral health.
