Kelly Owens Pratlett is a Senior Administrative Program Coordinator. She serves as the lead for all state agency-based programming within the Steve Hicks School of Social Work’s Office of Professional Development.

Kelly’s event planning experience spans more than 15 years and started with Marriott hotels where she planned and managed corporate events. Her career with The University of Texas at Austin began at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, where she was hired as a receptionist and was quickly promoted into a role where she planned and managed events year-round for the dean’s office, including the school’s annual commencement activities. From there, she moved into planning continuing education events of varying sizes and found that she really thrived in and environment where her efforts to provide meaningful education to mid-career professionals were helping to make Texas better.

Kelly holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature from Texas Tech University and two associates of applied science degrees – in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management – both from Austin Community College.
