Emily Brooke (she/hers/ella), LCSW, is the licensed clinical social worker for Digestive Health, a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin. Additionally, Brooke is an assistant professor of practice in Steve Hicks School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin.
She specializes in patient-centered care surrounding transitions and coping with greater life challenges. Her goal is to help patients envision ways they are already coping, succeeding and navigating the complex set of experiences that make up their lives, using a variety of modalities aimed at providing the most tailored services possible.
Previously, Brooke worked with transition-aged youth in foster care and in schools. She has hosted numerous social work interns in their field practicum and especially enjoys the supervision and development of future social workers. Brooke is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Rome Foundation GastroPsych community.
Brooke received her Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the University of Southern California, including studying abroad at the University of Cape Town. She completed her Master of Science in social work at The University of Texas at Austin.
