A retired attorney and business owner, Brian moved to Austin from Chicago in 2015. Brian studied Spanish at the University of Wisconsin and then Graduated from The University of Miami law school, before starting a business in Chicago in 1997. After selling the business, Brian decided to begin work in public health research and joined Texas A&M’ grant funded study, Active Living Austin (ALA). The ALA study concentrated on tracking people’s transportation and wellness decisions, in an effort to create healthier cities through architecture and urban planning.

Brian is currently working to help study mental health, specifically depression and anxiety in aging communities. Working as an assessor, he has personal contact and works directly with all of the participants in the study. Brian couldn’t be happier to be a part of the Longhorn community!
