Barbara Jefferson received her MSSW degree from The University of Texas at Austin. She has nearly forty years of experience working with children and families who have experienced trauma and supervising and training clinicians in this area of practice. Her areas of practice include clinical assessment, diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, individual, group, and family therapy services, discharge planning, crisis intervention, case management services, staff training and development, program services development, and clinical supervision. She served as clinical director with the Center for Child Protection in Travis County for seventeen years, after which she retired from full-time practice in 2022.
Barbara is an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of Texas at Austin and a board-approved LCSW clinical supervisor. She is a Phase II trainer in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics. She currently serves on the St. Edward’s University Social Work Program Advisory Council where she graduated with her BA in Psychology.
