Abby Morales, LMSW is the Graduate Program Coordinator for the doctoral program at the Steve Hicks School of Social Work (SHS). In this role, Abby oversees the day-to-day planning, coordination, and implementation of the program’s administrative and operational policies and procedures. She also manages the admissions process and serves as the primary point of contact for all inquiries from prospective students.
An Austin native, Abby earned her bachelor’s degree from Southwestern University, majoring in Sociology and Feminist Studies. Following four years of service as an AmeriCorps member with Literacy First and Breakthrough Central Texas, she obtained her MSSW from SHS in 2019, where she was part of the GRACE Program. Prior to her current role at SHS, Abby accumulated over five years of experience as a medical social worker at Ascension Seton. She also contributed her expertise to the Livestrong Cancer Institute’s Young Adult Advisory Board and Community Cancer Advisory Board during the clinic’s formative years.
In her free time, Abby enjoys exploring new restaurants with her husband, going for runs, and snuggling with her cat.
