How do I post a job position with the DiNitto Center?
Employers can post job openings through Handshake (also known as HireUTexas.) You can find instructions on how to create a Handshake account and post jobs here.
What types of organizations list positions with the DiNitto Center?
Our students and alumni often pursue opportunities in nonprofit organizations, government agencies, private clinics, public schools, and foundations.
What skills social work students and alumni have?
Social work is a profession that provides opportunities for service to individuals, families and communities in diverse settings such as private agencies, hospitals, schools, private practice and local, state and federal government agencies, including the legislature.
Bachelor’s level social workers build careers as caseworkers, school social workers, probation officers, community organizers or program directors.
Master’s level social workers have a variety of job titles including agency director, clinical therapist, crisis intervention counselor, trainer/consultant, geriatric specialist, program developer, policy analyst and program administrator.
Can my organization hold an information session?
Organizations who would like an opportunity to introduce themselves to students are invited to participate in our Fall or Spring Career Fair. Please email dccs@austin.utexas.eduif you would like to sign up for our next Career Fair.
Can I post unpaid positions or volunteer positions?
Organizations that are interested in developing an academic internship program or fill an intern vacancy for a student to receive academic credit should contact the Office of Practicum Education at ssw-field@austin.utexas.edu.
Organizations that are interested in identifying volunteers should reach out to the Service Learning program at sswservicelearning@austin.utexas.edu.
