Drs. Namkee Choi, Rowena Fong, and Yolanda Padilla were inducted to the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare (AASWSW) on January 18th, 2014, during the Society for Social Work and Research 18th Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
AASWSW is an honorific society of scholars and practitioners dedicated to achieving excellence in the field of social work and social welfare through high-impact work that advances social good.
The School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin currently has the highest number (six) of active fellows in AASWSW. Washington University in St. Louis follows with five fellows, and Columbia University with four. In addition to the recently inducted Drs. Choi, Fong, and Padilla, active fellows from the School include Drs. King Davis and Diana DiNitto, and Dean Luis Zayas.
