Iain is a doctoral student at the University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work. He is sponsored by the United States Air Force and currently serves as an active-duty service member at the rank of Captain. Iain earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga and his master’s degree in social work from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Iain is a licensed and board-certified clinical social worker with eight years of direct clinical experience working with veterans and active-duty populations.
Iain’s research interests are in the prevention of substance misuse in civilian, military, and veteran populations. He plans to use research in this area to improve outcomes for active-duty military personnel.
