The Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing (TXICFW) at UT Austin is supporting the development of an eligibility screener and two updated consumer information websites, the Child Care Portal (CCP) and Early Childhood Texas (ECT). This work is funded through the Preschool Development Grant Birth through Five (PDG B-5), with the Texas Workforce Commission serving as the lead agency.

To inform this development, TXICFW will conduct and analyze results of stakeholder focus groups and other user experience research and user acceptance testing. Participants include parents and child care providers as well as staff from local workforce development boards, local education agencies, and Head Start programs. TXICFW will also compensate parents and child care providers for their participation in the research.

TXICFW will develop an interim summary of findings from the focus groups and a final report on stakeholder user experience with the CCP and ECT. These findings will guide improvements to the screener and the websites for the families and providers who rely on them.
