Colleen Arnold received her MSSW from the University of Texas at Austin. She is licensed by the state of Texas as an LCSW and is a board-approved clinical supervisor. Ms. Arnold has been an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the UT Steve Hicks School of Social Work since 2018. She has served as a field instructor and supervised over 50 interns from four universities.
Ms. Arnold began her clinical career working in a general-population prison setting, providing chemical dependency counseling to males prior to their entering halfway houses. Following her MSSW studies, she worked with adolescents in the Travis County Juvenile Probation–Residential Services, where she coordinated a program for adolescents needing chemical dependency counseling. She provided individual, group, and family group work as well as training for staff. She also developed and oversaw the implementation of curriculum for the first residential, secure female program for chemical dependency counseling. Ms.Arnold has also worked at a private treatment facility in Austin as a clinical therapist and program manager working primarily with adolescents diagnosed with co-occurring disorders.
From 2008-2018, she was the social worker at W. Charles Akins High School in Austin, where she was the coordinator of the Student Support Services program. Among other services, she provided crisis counseling, individual counseling, group counseling, case management services. She also organized events for clothing, prom dress giveaways, and a free 3-day college tour for students who experienced homelessness. Colleen Arnold has served on the Texas School Social Workers Planning Committee since 2011. She has co-presented at the Texas School Social Workers Conference on topics related to advocacy and ethics. Ms. Arnold was nominated for Texas School Social Worker of the Year in 2015.Colleen Arnold is a proud native Texan. She equally loves being outdoors and watching Netflix, reading and traveling. However, spending time with her family is what she most enjoys.
