A new Virtual Cognitive Training Studyat Integral Care in Austin, TX, in partnership with UT-Austin Dell Medical School (Dr. Deborah Cohen) and UT SSW TEIMH (Dr. Vanessa Klodnick), is evaluating whether a web-based brain training program can help address cognitive challenges that often affect school, work, and daily functioning for young people ages 15–30 experiencing early psychosis. Participants will use a specific set of games in the brainHQ app for 40 hours over 8 weeks, completing exercises focused on memory, attention, processing speed, and problem-solving, while researchers collect app-based performance data along with surveys and interviews on functioning, quality of life, and mental health symptoms. This study offers an opportunity to assess a practical, scalable cognitive enhancement intervention for young people with early psychosis. This study was funded by the Texas New and Emerging Children’s Research Initiative.
