Sophie Segal, is a licensed master social worker based in New York City with a background in forensic social work. At 18 years old Sophie moved to the UK for a decade before returning to her hometown of New York, NY in 2012. Most recently, Sophie served as a Forensic Social Worker at The Legal Aid Society in the Bronx, supporting clients facing serious charges, including violent felonies, often diagnosed with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders. Prior to her social work career, Sophie worked as a financial journalist in London and New York for over a decade, reporting and editing for several business-to-business publications. She holds a MA Honors in Classics & English from the University of St Andrews, a MA in International Studies & Diplomacy from SOAS in London and a MSW from Columbia University.
