Ashley Harmon, LCSW-S, LCDC, is the Director of Clinical Behavioral Health for Intercollegiate Athletics at The University of Texas at Austin. Since joining the athletics department in 2016, she has played a key role in developing a comprehensive mental health program for student-athletes, expanding access to high-quality clinical care and coordinated behavioral health services. In this role, she provides direct clinical services, oversees all behavioral health treatment, and collaborates with medical staff, community providers, and contracted therapists and psychiatrists to optimize athlete well-being.
Ashley earned both her Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin. In addition to her leadership role in collegiate athletics, she maintains a private practice specializing in trauma, eating disorders, athlete mental health, and other complex mental health concerns. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member at The University of Texas School of Social Work, where she teaches and mentors future social workers.
Her professional background spans diverse settings, including teaching in the Alliance of Social Workers in Sports Certification Program, nonprofit work with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, medical social work, and contracted services with foster care agencies. This breadth of experience informs her holistic, client-centered approach to supporting individuals in both clinical and academic environments.
