The Steve Hicks School of Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin is planning a strong presence at the Society for Social Work and Research (SSWR) 2025 Annual Conference in Seattle next week. More than 60 faculty, staff and researchers will present on current research topics and collaborate with colleagues from around the country.

As a gold-level sponsor of this year’s event, Texas Social Work will convene a diverse group of social work scholars, educators, organizers and practitioners to discuss and promote dialogue on current, relevant social work topics.

Eighteen doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows from Texas Social Work will give 20 presentations on topics that include children experiencing homelessness, immigrant health and mental health, preventing alcohol-exposed pregnancy, youth mental health in rural Mexico, and racial disparities in telehealth use.
