The purpose of this project is to develop and oversee the Innovative Healing Centered Projects (HCPs), which aim to foster resilience, social ties, and recovery, particularly for those at risk for substance misuse. These projects provide non-clinical services and support such as wellness programs and peer mentorship, targeting individuals affected by adverse childhood experiences or trauma, especially exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative will serve thousands of at-risk individuals and screen even more to identify those in need of assistance, coordinating both clinical and non-clinical support systems. The focus population includes Texans from marginalized communities and the service area covers all counties in the designated HHS region. The project team will also manage project implementation, data collection, and evaluation.
