Krystal Duran, LCSW, is a clinically licensed social worker for the Musculoskeletal Institute at UT Health Austin. She is also a part of UT Health Austin’s Integrated Behavioral Health Scholars Program. She specializes in client-centered care that focuses on every domain of a person’s life, using cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care and motivational therapy. She received her master’s in social work from The University of Texas at Austin and her bachelor’s in social work from Baylor University, with a minor in poverty and social justice. She has interned and worked with Child Protective Services with the state of Texas as a conservatorship worker, and she continued her child welfare work with the Center for Child Protection as a bilingual therapist. She understands the impact an event or experiences can have on a person’s physical, emotional, behavioral and social well-being.
