Dr. Lori Holleran Steiker is one of the eight faculty members selected as winners of the university-wide President’s Associates Teaching Excellence Award for the 2013-2014 academic year.
This award recognizes excellence in the teaching of undergraduates in the School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin, and a record of engagement with curriculum reform and educational innovation. Nominees are selected by a committee chaired by the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education.
Holleran Steiker is devoted to undergraduate education, and is very proud of her Signature Course “Young People & Drugs,” which she has been teaching since 2008. She is the faculty advisor for several UT student groups devoted to increasing awareness and decreasing stigma attached to young people’s substance addiction and recovery. She is particularly committed to the BSW students and their successful growth as professionals.
