In partnership with other schools and colleges, the Steve Hicks School of Social Work offers dual degree programs that allow students to obtain an MSSW degree in combination with another graduate degree.

Students must meet each institution’s admission criteria and be accepted into the MSSW and the accompanying degree program independently.

MSSW/MBA

with McCombs School of Business
  • Earn an MSSW and a Master of Business Administration.
  • Gain skills and knowledge to design and manage effective and client-responsive human service delivery systems in the non-profit, for-profit and government sectors.
  • MSSW students must be in the Administration and Policy Practice concentration.

with UT Austin School of Law
  • Earn an MSSW and a Doctor of Jurisprudence
  • Social workers and lawyers often converge in areas such as child welfare, juvenile justice, immigration and housing. Both professions have a deep commitment to client advocacy and social justice.
  • MSSW students can be in the Clinical or Administration or Policy Practice concentration.

  • Earn an MSSW and a Master of Arts with major in Latin American Studies
