The 35th Annual Texas School Social Workers Conference opened Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Renaissance Hotel in Austin with platinum sponsor August Schools.

One of the longest-running and largest conferences focused on continuing education and professional development for social workers in schools, this year’s event centered on the theme “Igniting Hope: School Social Workers Lighting the Way.” The conference celebrated the power of school social workers to spark change and illuminate pathways for students, families and communities through inspiring keynotes, dynamic institutes and engaging workshops.

August Schools recognized the Texas School Social Workers Conference as an opportunity to support professionals who are essential partners in student wellbeing. School social workers bridge the gap between academic success and the social-emotional supports students need to thrive — a mission that aligns directly with August Schools’ platform vision.

“School social workers are often the connective tissue in student support systems,” said Pete Russell, August Schools CEO. “They coordinate between families, teachers, counselors and community resources in ways that require both deep expertise and reliable tools. We’re proud to support a conference that strengthens their practice and celebrates their impact.”

August Schools builds technology designed to simplify documentation and coordination for school-based student support teams. Founded four years ago to modernize outdated school health record systems, the company has expanded its platform to serve school nurses, counselors, social workers, athletic trainers and administrators. By streamlining daily workflows and enabling data-driven collaboration, August Schools helps support staff focus on their core mission: helping students thrive.

The three-day conference offered ethics continuing education units, interactive keynotes, and peer-led breakout workshops to build practical skills.
