Dr. Sounny-Slitine is a scholar practitioner. Her research interests include Arab American student experiences, belonging, academic advising, and equitable policy. She applies critical theories as she works towards dismantling systematic educational barriers affecting marginalized and excluded groups. Her higher education practice has focused on academic advising, student success, student leadership, policy creation and implementation, and staff development. Dr. Sounny-Slitine enjoys supporting students and colleagues as they learn and develop their knowledge and skills. She received her Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership and Policy from The University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Social Work from Texas State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences with a focus on Personal and Family Relationships from The University of Texas at Austin.
