Liz Nowicki, ACSW, LCSW

Director of Office of Professional Development

Elizabeth B. Nowicki, LCSW, ACSW, a 1986 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work master’s degree program, has directed the Office of Professional Development since it was established in 2000. She works with the school’s Professional Development Committee in planning programming for the workshop series and other activities.

Nowicki, trained as a clinician, worked in Austin-area children’s acute and residential treatment programs. She served as director of the Regional Network for Children of Central Texas (1992-2000). While in that role, Nowicki began planning workshops for professionals in children’s services and found that she was drawn to continuing education work.

For Nowicki, directing the Office of Professional Development is a perfect match of skill set and interest, and she finds great satisfaction in helping fellow social workers. “They leave trainings energized and ready to go back to challenging jobs with greater expertise and knowledge to help client populations,” says Nowicki.
