Lina Palomares is a Clinical Research Project Manager with the Department of Pediatrics. She works primarily with the Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) Fellowship program, helping conduct a variety of research studies with patients and families at the Dell Children’s Medical Center Emergency Department and training the PEM Fellows in best practices for research in children.

Palomares has over 20 years of experience working in health-related research. Prior to joining Dell Med, she worked as a research project manager for the Texas Policy Evaluation Project (TxPEP) at the UT Austin Population Research Center and with the Department of Family Medicine at UCLA. She is also a licensed social worker, previously working in both hospital- and school-based social work settings. Her background in social work influences her drive to be part of research that is inclusive and helps achieve health equity.

Palomares earned a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from UCLA, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University, Los Angeles, and a Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin. She is currently a Board member of the Steve Hicks School of Social Work Alumni Network (SWAN), serving as Treasurer from 2019 to 2022. She is also a Board member of Every Body Texas (Treasurer) and The Junior League of Austin (Recording Secretary).
