Julieta Caamano-Pelayo graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Social Communications in Mexico and is a certified bilingual educator. Her career as a social worker with the University of Texas at Austin has specialized her in various roles as mental health provider, research coordinator and assessor. Since 2015, she has worked on Dr. Namkee Choi’s research team as a trained lay advisor, trainer and fall prevention coach. She focuses on providing telehealth treatment sessions to older adults with depression and other mental health issues and she has collaborated to create and translate Spanish study research material. Julieta was born and raised in Mexico and is fluent in English and Spanish. She is an active advocate and performer of the Latino and Mexican arts and folk dances.
