Gretchen Rees, LCSW-S, (pronouns: she/her/hers) is a counselor from the Counseling and Mental Health Center. Gretchen is located in the Steve Hicks School of Social work as part of the CARE Program (Counselors in Academic Residence), and provides mental health support for students who are struggling emotionally and/or academically.

As a former Field Instructor for the Steve Hicks School of Social Work, Gretchen is thrilled to be supporting social work students again. Using a relational, client-centered approach, Gretchen supports students as they navigate life’s challenges. Her clinical interests include mindfulness, self-compassion, attachment and trauma, anxiety and depression, as well as interpersonal neurobiology.
