AUSTIN, Texas – University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work graduate student Wm. Tim Bailey is the 2012 recipient of the Ted K. Bradshaw Outstanding Research Award from the Community Development Society.

The $1,000 award is presented each year to a Community Development Society member in recognition of a significant stream of superior research that exemplifies and positively impacts community development practice and represents a lasting contribution to the field.

Bailey, a student in the Master of Science in Social Work program’s Community and Administrative Leadership concentration, was honored for his community-based asset and needs assessment research project in Patriensa, Ghana. Bailey recently presented preliminary findings as a speaker at the African Local Summit in Kumasi, Ghana.

Bailey has been involved in international humanitarian projects for the past six years in Mexico, India, the Dominican Republic, and Ghana. He will graduate in May.
