Dr. Barbara Jones is Associate Professor and Co-Director of the Institute for Grief, Loss, and Family Survival in the School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin, where she also holds a courtesy appointment with the Center for Women and Gender Studies. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at University of Texas Galveston Medical School, Collaborating Faculty member at The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and Research Consultant at Dell Children’s Medical Center.

Dr. Jones’ research focuses on improving care for children, adolescents and young adults with cancer and their families. She teaches courses across the curriculum on topics such as grief and loss, social work in health care, psychosocial oncology and interprofessional education (IPE).
