Valerie Gaimon, who is interested in restorative justice, told the Graduate School that she chose the School of Social Work for her doctoral education because of “its strong reputation, supportive environment, and the opportunity to work with visionary professors like Marilyn Armour and Noël Busch-Armendariz.”

Eighty-one UT undergraduates have joined the School as pre-social work majors this year. Most of them are from Texas, but there are also students from as far as California and Louisiana. They have expressed interest in many areas of social work, including gerontology, adoption and foster care, human trafficking, and nonprofit management.
